Did I ever think that I would even the slightest bit enjoy cooking. Safe to say I've had my fair share of cooking nightmares. LOL And while I claim to be one of those cooks that eyeball measurements I think that I've come to the reality that sadly......I'm not, I shouldn't, and I should never be allowed to eyeball measurements again for as long as I'm living. That my friends is a recipe for disaster. I've had enough recipe disasters that could be a blog on its own. As my dad would say, I could burn water if it was possible. Unfair analysis LOL he's just bitter because he was BBqing one day and had to go in the house for something and asked me to watch the chicken on the grill. And so I did what he asked...I watched the chicken--watched it catch on fire and turn to charcoal. HA. Oops. I really don't think I'm to blame, he should've been more specific lol I never wanted to learn how to cook or had the patience for it...and really I was always busy with volleyball. But I guess even if I would've had the time I still wouldn't have cooked lol However, now that I have a family of my own I'm forced to cook (it's unfortunate we can't live off of cereal) Throughout the years I've got a lot better. DOMESTICATED. Ha. And now I actually sort of, kinda, maybe like to cook. It's growing on me and the cooking disasters are starting to decrease lol
Tonight I did manage to make some edible (thank God) and delicious breadsticks. Copy cat version of Olive Gardens.
Homemade bread always makes me nervous, I'm always scared it won't rise lol
THEY HAVE RISEN!
My cute little helper....
I also made for the first time the Zuppa Toscana soup.....so good and seriously tasted just like the one at the restaurant. And what good is Olive Garden recipes without the chicken Alfredo. Homemade sauce is soooo much better than the jar kind. I totally meant to take pics when it was finished but when you have a teething/screaming five month old and a three year old riding her scooter in the dining room screaming "MOM MAKE HER BE QUIET" over and over again, taking photos for your blog is sort of the last thing on your mind. Crazies & Chaos. My family at the dinner table, enjoying food, happy.....I guess I can understand why people like to cook :)
